*Basics of Fiqh and Four Imams*
Topic: The speaker touches on the basics of Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and talks about the lives of the four imams Abu Hanfia, Malik, Shafe’i and ibn Hanbal. The objective is to get the layperson familiar with this field as one should have basic knowledge of this field in Islam, and should also be familiar with these four great imams (and their respective madhab/school of thought). The speaker discusses first some terminology and sources-primary and secondary-of fiqh. He then goes on to dicuss the biographies of the four Imams and their lives, times and some (not all) of the differences they had. Along with the audio lectures, the Sheikh has included some powerpoint slides which you can view to illustrate the material better. Of course you will need the program Microsoft PowerPoint to view these slides*

* In no way is this an “in-depth” course on fiqh, this just touches on the basics. And another important reminder: completing this course does not make you a mujtahid, and does not give you the permission to “pass fatawaa” or speak on things which you do not have complete knowledge about! :D
